Teenager stabbed in alleyway attack

Police are appealing for information after a stabbing incident in the New Lodge area of North Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

The victim, a 17-year-old male had been walking through an alleyway at Bruslee Way when two males with their faces covered by their coats approached him.

“He was grabbed from behind and believed he had been punched in the back,” a PSNI spokesman said.

“He broke free from the males and ran to safety. He was taken to hospital for treatment for a stab wound to his shoulder.”

Police would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them at Tennent Street Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
