A man in his 60s has died after a two vehicle collision in Bangor.

The collision took place on the Cotton Road in the north Down town this morning, Tuesday 21 February

A PSNI spokesman said the man was the driver of a red Renault Clio car that was involved in a collision with a white Volkswagen Passat close to Six Road Ends shortly after 11am.

Inspector Francey is appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Cotton Road this morning and who witnessed the collision to contact local police in Bangor or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 390 of 21/02/17.

The Cotton Road remains closed at this time while police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
