Sandy Row district will head this year’s Twelfth parade in the capital city, with the parade leaving Carlisle Circus at 10am.
Millar Memorial flute band will lead County Grand Lodge officers and guests, along Donegall Street, Royal Avenue, Castle Junction and Donegall Place to the City Hall for a wreath-laying ceremony.
At 10.30am after the act of remembrance, Orangemen from nine districts, and 60 bands, will proceed via Bedford Street, Dublin Road, Lisburn Road, Balmoral Avenue and Malone Road to the demonstration field at Barnett Demesne. A large Scottish contingent will join the Belfast lodges.
Belfast Grand Master George Chittick will preside at platform proceedings, with resolutions read by Belfast chaplain the Rev Mervyn Gibson, and the Glasgow Grand Master Edward Hyde.
The parade will leave the field and proceed back to the city centre at 4.15pm. Once again, Belfast City Hall will be illuminated in orange and purple prior to dawn and at dusk on the Twelfth evening.
