David McNarry has welcomed the DUP joining the campaign for the UK to leave the European Union.

Calling for a “clean debate” ahead of the referendum, the UKIP NI leader said: “While the UUP are still dithering, it is imperative that support for leaving the EU is maximised.

“But, let us make sure that, while the out/in camps divide, they do not do so along sectarian or racist lines.”

Mr McNarry added: “Northern Ireland will, I believe, vote to exit the European Union - but we must have a clean debate.”

Nigel Farage, the leader of UKIP nationally, dismissed the Prime Minister’s efforts as a “truly pathetic deal” and urged voters to seize the “golden opportunity” to show that Britain would be better off being fully independent of Brussels.
