The News Letter Festival of Marching Bands returned to Belfast this month for its fourth year.

The event, organised by the Ulster Bands Forum and sponsored by Translink and Ulster Scots, showcased the best of bands across Northern Ireland and was enjoyed by an enthusiastic audience at the Ulster Hall.

The schedule brought together the cream of the province’s marching bands, featuring Cloughmills Crown Defenders Flute, Antrim; Ballycraigy Auld Boys Flute, Antrim; Derryloran Boyne Defenders Flute, Cookstown; Pride of the Orange and Blue Flute, Londonderry; Whitewater Pipe, Newtownhamilton; Newtownards Melody Flute; Drum Accordion, Monaghan; and Pride of the Raven Flute East Belfast - bands chosen by the organisers as being among the premier bands of their musical style and genre.

William Caulfield, star of stage and television, hosted and compered the evening’s performance.
