VIDEO: Moment of jubilation in NI as news begins to break of Brexit

This is the moment Vote Leave supporters began to celebrate as the BBC’s rolling coverage started predicting a victory for Brexit in the EU referendum.

However, whilst the UK as whole may have voted to leave, Northern Ireland has backed the Remain side.

Out of the 18 constituencies in the Province, 11 voted for remain.

The total number of votes cast was 790,523 – a turnout of 62.69 per cent, much lower than expected.

Among this total, 440,707 voted for Remain, with 349,442 voting for Leave.
