Suzy Drane has described being named captain of Wales’ 12-player netball team for this summer’s Commonwealth Games as a “huge honour”.
The squad was earlier exclusively revealed on Twitter, alongside a short video of each woman saying what drives them to succeed.
Drane said: “It is a huge honour to be selected as captain of a very talented and enthusiastic group, and we are going to Glasgow prepared to deliver on court performances that excite and inspire the many supporters we have in Wales.”
The Welsh team, which missed out on qualifying for the Games in Delhi four years ago, will be managed by interim head coach Laura Williams, who replaced the sacked Melissa Hyndman.
Wales’ squad for the Games in Glasgow is nearly complete, with only the rugby sevens yet to announce their team.
