Woman killed in Carrickfergus crash named

The woman who died after a serious crash in Carrickfergus on Wednesday night has been named as Heather Steele.

She was 53-years-old.

A PSNI spokesman said two cars were involved in the 8pm crash on the Marina Highway, in the Co Antrim town.

Two other men have been taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The Belfast Road in the town, which was closed overnight, has since been reopened.

Chief Inspector Natalie Wilson said the collision involved a green Suzuki Ingis and a black Seat Leon.

She appealed for anyone who saw either car in the area or who witnessed the collision to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station or local police at Carrickfergus Police Station on the non emergency number 101.
