Woman targeted in attempted hijacking in south Belfast

Police are appealing for information following the report of an attempted hijacking on Stranmillis Road in south Belfast on Monday 20 February.

On Monday at around 4pm a woman was sitting in her car in a car park on Stranmillis Road when she was approached by a man who attempted to gain entry to the car and take her keys.

A PSNI spokesman said the offender is described as being aged in his 20’s, approximately 5ft 6ins tall, with dark hair and was wearing a navy coloured hooded top.

He made off in the direction of Cutters Wharf.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have noticed any activity in the area or who has information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave Reactive and Organised Crime on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 824 of 20/2/17.
