The gospel testimony of former IRA man Shane Paul O’Doherty as recorded (April 13), reflects the teachings of Christ in the Gospels.
It does not make him a Protestant or a Roman Catholic as Christ’s teachings and miracles of unmerited grace came before our denominational labels. He is a redeemed soul of our Lord Jesus Christ and a member of His body.
I thoroughly agree with him that any unrepentant unconfessed person who was involved in crime and murder should not be elevated to high office.
The current arrangement tolerated by some professing Christians in Parliament has unfortunately sent the message that crime pays.
A new banner of repentance over our government buildings would be a welcome sight.
