Few memorials to the great slaughter of 1641

Saturday's edition of the News Letter had a letter ('˜Butchered at Loughgall in 1641,' May 13) relating to the 1641 massacre.

One thing I notice as I’m out and about in the Province is how few memorials there are to commemorate this great slaughter.

The only one I have come across is a tiny one at Portadown, near the spot where some 200 massacre victims perished.
