Make sure you are visible in the dark

Pedestrians in dark clothes do not seem to realise that they are almost invisible to motorists. Sometimes all a driver sees is a white plastic shopping bag or a luminous strip on shoes.

Manufacturers should be encouraged to put a luminous strip on school blazers and winter jackets.

High-vis waist coats, armbands and belts should be on sale along with winter jackets and school blazers .Most sports shops do stock them so I urge everyone to make themselves visible in the dark.

Many motorists seem reluctant to follow the official advice to drive with dipped headlights in heavy rain; some do not even use their lights in twilight and fog.

So “Be Safe , Be Seen”.
