A copy of a letter from Jim Allister QC to the Legal Services Commission

Now that the McCord challenge to Brexit has been comprehensively rejected by the High Court, I trust the commission will not squander any further public money by supporting any appeal Mr McCord seeks to bring.

Leave has not been granted in respect of “Issue 5”, which was unique to McCord’s application.

Hence, there is nothing to now distinguish his case from that of his fellow applicants, whom, it seems, are not relying on the public purse.

Thus, if the matter is to be tested further, it can be done without reliance on legal aid.
