Staying under the claws of EU bureaucrats would have finished UK as a nation state

The more I hear of the difficulties extracting from the European Union the more I realise the growing stranglehold we were in.

It was our own prime ministers who led us in and had the ordinary folk not voted to leave the claws of EU bureaucrats it would have eventually finished us off as a nation state.

The snarling tones coming from European Commission presidential levels sounds more like an angry beast losing its prey.

I hope and pray we survive the severe mauling of our independence and sovereignty.
