BOYZONE'S Shane Lynch brought children from across Ulster's political divide together as he proved the star attraction at an event in Belfast.
The Dublin-born singer from the famous quintet addressed hundreds of youths from the Shankill and the Falls at the old James E Ball warehouse in the west of the city on Thursday evening.

Organised by the New Life City Church, Shane celebrated his 32nd birthday by sharing his personal story of his change from a lifestyle of drink and drugs, to a commitment to Christianity.

Although he did not entertain the audience in the usual manner of music, those in attendance were gripped on his every word as he shared his dramatic turnaround.

The former mechanic told of how he was discovered by Louis Walsh, an embarrassing moment with Prince Charles and of the huge void in his life, despite his wealth, until he discovered God.
