FORMER Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar has described one of Rafa Benitez' summer signings as a "little bit suspect".
Grobbelaar - who made over 600 appearances for the Anfield club - is in the Province this week as part of the Legends XI Northern Ireland tour.

The eccentric shot stopper - who famously won the European Cup in 1984 against Roma by partaking in a 'wobbly leg' routine during the penalty shoot out - has doubts as to whether Swiss international full-back Philipp Degen will make the grade at his old club.

In contrast, he told the News Letter website that Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane would be a "good addition" to the squad.

The ex-Zimbabwe international is also sceptical as to whether much publicised transfer target, Gareth Barry, will make a move to Anfield now due to financial constraints.

Grobbelaar will be cheering on his team mates from the sidelines this week as his Ulster tour was cut short on Sunday after sustaining a hamstring injury during the Liverpool Legend's 3-2 victory over Bangor.

As well as enjoying the local hospitality, Grobbelaar is confident Liverpool will have the "bragging rights" after they clash with their old foes Manchester United in Coleraine on Thursday.

Ex-Reds of opposing sides include Jan Molby, Frank Stapleton, John Barnes and Lee Sharpe.

The Legends tour culminates at the weekend when both teams, alongside Linfield and Glentoran, battle it out for the Belfast Cup at The Oval.
