NORTHERN Ireland defender Jonny Evans is confident the famous Windsor Park atmosphere could prove pivotal ahead of the crucial World Cup qualifier on Wednesday night.
Speaking to the News Letter website, the Manchester United ace spoke of the special feeling he gets representing Northern Ireland, especially at the south Belfast venue.

Evans and his team mates face the Czech Republic in a must-win clash against the Group three favourites, following a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Slovakia on Saturday.

The 20-year-old admits the performance of the team was not what it should have been in Bratislava and in an honest admission singles himself out for blame for Slovakia's opening goal.

However, the centre-half is confident Northern Ireland can get a positive result on Wednesday.

Northern Ireland fans will be hoping for a similar result to their team's recent September performances at Windsor Park.

In 2005, under the floodlights David Healy scored that never to be forgotten goal against England and followed it up a year later with a magical hat-trick against current European champions, Spain.
