The Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association held its annual gala dinner in the Europa Hotel.
Awards were:

Player of the Year: Michael Gault (Linfield)
Manager of the year: David Jeffrey (Linfield)
Young player of the year: Aaron Smyth (Cliftonville)
Junior Team of the year: Loughgall
International Personality of the Year: David Healy (Fulham and Northern Ireland)
Hall of Fame: Roy Coyle
Merit Award: Fred Magee (Harland and Wolff Welders)
