lIAM Beckett is back in the Irish League after he succeeded Ollie Mullan in the Limavady United hotseat on Monday.
The Roesiders have endured a wretched baptism in the new IFA Championship since their relegation from the top flight last season, failing to secure a single point in their four opening league games.

And rookie boss Mullan has subsequently made way for the charismatic Beckett who quit Institute last season for personal reasons.

The former Cliftonville manager's first assignment will be a league clash with high-flying north Antrim neighbours Ballymoney United at the Showgrounds on Tuesday.

Joe McCall's side have made a flawless beginning to the new campaign, winning both their opening league games as well as cruising through to the next round of the Steel and Sons Cup after a convincing 3-0 defeat of giant-slaying specialists Newington YC on Saturday.

But McCall has warned his side of a Limavady onslaught as players endeavour to impress the new man at the helm.

"After hearing that Liam Beckett has been appointed manager, I would expect a bit of a backlash from Limavady," said McCall.

"I watched them last Saturday against Coagh and they played decent although I think Coagh deserved to win it.

"But I'm very pleased with our form. We've two wins from our two games and we've played quite well.

"Even when we had a couple of weeks break, we got a good result on Saturday against Newington who are a very good side.

"To be honest, it's really tight in that league. Everybody is well organised and fit and you're just hoping for someone to produce that bit of magic that wins you the game and at the minute, my three forwards are giving us that.

"The big difference this year, if I was to be critical of us last season, is that the chances we are creating, the forwards are scoring them now.

"Defensively we've been very good so far this season as well so I'm very pleased."

Elsewhere, Ballyclare Comrades go in search of their first win of the season in an east Antrim derby against Carrick Rangers at Dixon Park.

League leaders Coagh United entertain Banbridge Town at Hagan Park in an early kick-off (7pm) while Armagh City host Dergview, Loughgall welcome Tobermore United and Larne seek their first win of the season in only their second league game of the campaign at home to Tommy Kincaid's Ards.

Meanwhile at the Riada Stadium, the inaugural Co-Operative Insurance Cup kicks off with Glebe Rangers and Killymoon Rangers clashing in a preliminary round.
