GEORGE McCartney has set his sights on banishing the away day blues to help Northern Ireland qualify for the World Cup.
One World qualifying win away from Windsor Park in seven years doesn't make pretty reading, and the Sunderland defender is keen to make amends.
Indeed, McCartney is targeting up to eight points on Northern Ireland's travels – despite last month's defeat in Slovakia.
"We need to get our away form sorted and quickly," said the ex-West Ham United man.
"If you want to qualify you really need to pick up at least seven or eight points away from home. That's what you find the top sides who qualify regularly doing.
"We've one point from two games and we know we need to register a few wins and points now. We were looking for at least four points from our first two games and that didn't happen, so these two games this week are crucial.
"It's really important we pick up at least a draw here and it's a must win at home to San Marino.
"At least four points are a must if we want to have any hope of doing anything in the group."
