PAUL Kirk will be calling on his Lisburn Distillery players to up the ante when they travel to Clandeboye Park this afternoon.
Successive defeats against Linfield and Crusaders have left Kirk frustrated, and now he is demanding a positive response against Bangor today.
“We were very disappointing last week, and I don’t mean any disrespect to Crusaders,” he said.
“Once
again our frailty is conceding goals. Our goalkeeper Alex Spackman admitted he thought Mark Dickson’s shot was going wide and he left it, but it ended up in the back of the net.
“These types of decisions are costing us points. The same happened against Glenavon when we threw away a two-goal lead, and we made two bad decisions to gift Linfield their goals when they beat us.
“So we have to improve, starting against Bangor.”
Bangor boss Marty Quinn is looking to build on successive victories over Ballymena and Glenavon.
“We have enjoyed a couple of good results, so hopefully we can continue that on Saturday against Distillery,” he said.
“It is a tough game. Distillery are blowing a little hot and cold at present so Paul (Kirk) will be up for it.
“But so will we and we can’t wait.”
