NIGEL Worthington is demanding more goals throughout his squad as the dawn of a new qualifying campaign looms.
David Healy's 13 strikes in the European qualifiers almost guided Northern Ireland to the Championship finals in Austria and Switzerland.
But despite Healy's outstanding scoring achievement, Worthington has called on his team-mates to share the burden.
"I keep harping on that we can't keep relying on David Healy (right). We are a team, and as much as David can score goals, we have to help ourselves and take pressure off him by scoring goals from different areas," the international boss said.
"I will be setting each different department a challenge going into the qualifying campaign."
Reflecting on Healy's achievement in the Euros – when he beat Davor Suker's 12-year record for most goals scored in a qualifying campaign – Worthington said the talismanic striker was capable of reproducing the phenomenal effort.
"Can David break his record? All he can do is take one game at a time and one goal at a time," he said.
"One thing you do know about the little man is that when he comes to playing for his country he enjoys it, and if an opportunity arises in the 90 minutes you can be guaranteed that nine times out of 10 it will hit the back of the net."
