Neil Johnston won a dramatic Milk Run 5 Miles Road Race promoted by the Springwell Club at the Joey Dunlop Centre in Ballymoney.

Richard Johnston hit the front for the first two miles with Andrew Considine, Neil Johnston, Justin Maxwell, James Brown, Stephen Joyce, Luke Dinsmore and John Black chasing.

Considine and Neil Johnston then took over and interchanged the lead continually until Neil from the promoting club made a last effort to win by five seconds. Considine, Maxwell, Brown, Richard Agnew and Black made up the top six.

Cathy McCourt was in a class of her own as she added this Ladies title to her Dervock win. She crossed the line forty eight seconds clear of defending champion Gemma Turley with rising star Alexandra Kirk in third.

Brendan Grew and Kent Swann gave North Belfast the top two places in the Divis 10K which was held over a picturesque but tough course.

Grew dominated from the start and had more than two minutes in hand over his team mate at the finish. Thomas Leitch was close up third.

Former International Catriona Donaldson gave an impressive performance as she easily won the Ladies. Helen Weir was runner up for the second year in a row with Angela Stevenson third.

The proceeds of the event went to Action For Hearing Loss NI.
