Bangor/ATT have been crowned Belfast & District Mixed League champions after avenging an earlier defeat by Larne to win an exciting play-off 5-2 on Monday night.
The result not only saw the Co Down-Antrim combination avenge that loss but also meant they succeeded where they had failed 12 months ago when they lost the play-off.
“Winning the Division One Mixed League has been a great achievement for the team and after losing the play-off last year we were determined to win it this time around.” said ATT’s kerri Russell.
“It’s a long and intense league, full of ups and downs along the way and some very memorable matches.
“The whole team are over the moon with the victory and we are now getting ready to compete in the summer league starting next week.
“We would Like to thank all those who came out to support the team during the league campaign.”
Team captain Ellen McCartney, who unfortunately cud not take part in the play off due to recent surgery was still there to cheer on the team at the play off.
“I’m very proud of the team, it’s been a fantastic team effort and a great achievement that has been a long time coming”. she added.
