Belfast Giants moved 25 points clear at the top of the Elite League as they returned to winning ways with a 4-1 victory over Nottingham Panthers at the Odyssey Arena.

Forwards Chris Higgins, Jeffrey Szwez and Kevin Saurette put the Giants ahead before Robert Farmer got a goal back for the visitors, but David Phillips made it safe for Belfast late on.

In Wednesday night’s other match, Jereme Tendler scored a hat-trick as Hull Stingrays recorded their second win in succession with a 7-3 win against Fife Flyers.

Hull’s win moved them just above Coventry in sixth, while the Flyers remain second bottom after their second defeat on the bounce.
