Ballymena’s Stephen Shields goes on the hunt of the Private Greens League Under-25 singles title on Tuesday night at Fruithill Park, the home of Falls Bowls Club.

The Ireland international, who last lifted the crown back in 2009, comes up against Belmont’s Terry Crawford in what should be a mouth-watering semi finals clash.

Crawford is also a former winner – he hoisted the trophy the year after Shields.

Andy Morrison, off Ballymena, and Darren Witherspoon are also due to battle it out in the singles semi final. They are both looking to reach the decider for the first time.

The NIBA Championship will also resume on Wednesday night at Carrickfergus, with Bangor’s Simon Martin, Graham McKee and Robert Hastings going head to head with the Lisnagarvey side, skipped by Noel Graham in the triples semis.
