Carl Frampton believes he has the tools to see off WBC World champion Leo Santa Cruz when they meet in the ring.
Santa Cruz defended his belt on Saturday night in Las Vegas after beating Cristian Mijares on points.
The Mexican fighter is now undefeated after 28 fights and he is also a two time World Champion - but Frampton still fancies his chances if they meet later this year.
“He impressed on Saturday night and got the job done. But Mijares looked old and slow and that made it that bit easier for Santa Cruz.
“Mijares moved about for the first few rounds, but his legs gave up on him and Santa Cruz did a good job on him.
“No fighter is perfect and he has weaknesses. We all do but it is being able to take advantage of those when we meet in the ring.
“He comes forward and he is there to be hit. He holds his hands high and he has little head movement. It will be a good fight between the two of us and both of us want it,” he added.
But Frampton says he totally focused on his April 4 opponent Hugo Cazares.
“Talking about fighting Santa Cruz is great, but I have my whole focus on Cazares. Lose to him and the Santa Cruz fight is off,” he added.
