“This is also for the Celtic title so it gives you more humger to work harder in the gym and put the work in.

“And since this show has a world title fight, I am live on television and my fight is for a title, it has given me more motivation.”

And Gallagher says he is looking forward to facing the threat that Dixon brings to the ring.

“He is bringing a big support with him and he is a crowd pleaser. We have the game plan sorted and I can’t see me losing this fight. It will be tough but I want this title,” he added.

Also on Saturday night’s billin Cardiff Conrad Cummings will take on Frankie Borg and Joe Fitzpatrick will fight in the York Hall on June 10.
