Burnett faces Anthony Settoul for the vacant WBC International title and the 23-year-old Belfast fighter wants to impress the millions of fans who will tune in to see him in action.

“I want to put on a good performance and get another win and title under my belt. We have big plans for 2016 and it is up to me to deliver on the night,” he added.

And what does Burnett think will happen when Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg clash for the IBF and WBA World titles on Saturday night?

“I see the start of the fight being a chess match and then to liven up in the middle rounds. I have watched Carl and Scott for a long time and I know loads about the two of them and I just think Carl’s boxing ability will edge him the fight.

“But you cannot take anything away from either of them because they are both world champions,” he added,

In his last outing Burnett claimed the British bantamweight title by beating Jason Booth on points and he says going the 12 rounds has done him good.

“It was time for me to go the 12 rounds and I now have that in the bank for the future.

“I had him down early but my trainer Adam Booth told me to get the rounds in – so I did what he told me to do.”
