Barry McGuigan will ram home the importance of staying focused to Carl Frampton before ‘The Jackal’ meets Kiko Martinez in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast on Saturday.
Thousands of fans will make their way to the fight believing that Belfast boy Frampton will be crowned IBF World Champion after defeating the Spaniard.
But McGuigan - a former WBC Featherweight World Champion - believes that Frampton still has work to do, to get his hands on the prize.
“There is no complacency. Carl is very switched on and he knows Kiko is here to win and Kiko has said some nasty, vengeful things - and he is here to redeem himself - but Carl is in fantastic shape and he is ready for this,” added McGuigan.
And the Cyclone Promotions CEO also thinks Martinez will still remember Frampton stopping him at the Odyssey last year.
“Kiko is going to nbe confident, more than the last time as he has won a World title.
“But in the back of his mind he must know that the only guy to have hurt him and stopped him is Carl Frampton.
“And Carl is calm and got himself into fantastic shape for this. He is ready.”
