Tickets for Carl Frampton’s IBF World title eliminator against Jeremy Parodi at the Odyssey on October 19 have been selling fast.
Frampton - who watched Kiko Martinez claim the IBF World title on Saturday night after stopping Jonathan Romero in America -will be looking to make a statement in front of a big crowd at the Belfast venue.
And it seems ‘The Jackal’ may get his wish as it seems the October’s fight had the largest first day sales for any boxing show that has been held at the Odyssey.
And Frampton’s manager Barry McGuigan says his fighter is the real deal.
“The bottom line is Carl has a knock out victory over a world champion - Kiko Martinez now.
“This kid is world class and he only had 16 professional fights.
“We are on course for a World title fight early next year and Frampton can be world champion very soon.
“The fans in Belfast and Ireland are fantastic supporters of boxing and they know Frampton is the real deal.
“The atmosphere for his win against Martinez in the Odyssey in February was fantastic and we are hoping for the same again, or even better.
“The support Carl gets in Belfast is second to none, and the response we have got so far is fantastic. We really appreciate all the support,” he added.
Also on the bill Eamonn O’Kane will fight for a title and Belfast’s Jamie Conlan will also get his chance to get his hands on a belt.
Tickets for the show can be got from the Odyssey or www.ticketmaster.ie
