Belfast’s Carl Frampton has guaranteed ‘excitement and blood and guts’ at the Odyssey on Friday night.
The Tigers Bay super-bantamweight faces Hugo Cazares in a Final Eliminator for the WBC World title.
And with America calling ‘The Jackal’ knows he has to impress while beating Mexican Cazares in front of 9000 plus fans if he is to get a World title fight against Leo Santa Cruz.
“I plan to win the fight and impress while doing it.
“It is very important to be exciting and I believe Guillermo Rigondeaux is in the top three pound for pound in the World at the minute.
“He has two World titles in the bag after only 13 fights and HBO have dropped him because of his style.
“It’s not right and I don’t agree with it - but they want to see blood and guts - and that is the way it is.
“Golden Boy will be in Belfast to watch my fight and I know I have to win and impress if I want to face their WBC champ Santa Cruz,” he added.
And Frampton says KO’s and explosive punching is the way to get yourself noticed.
“I got a bit of stick after fighting Raul Hirales in Nottingham on the undercard of Carl Froch’s World title fight against Lucian Bute.
“Hirales was a very capable fighter and I beat him on points after winning every round. I got stick from the commentators, and I don’t I think I deserved that.
“I know - with the Santa Cruz fight around the corner - I have to look good.
“The average man in the street listens to the commentators, but real boxing fans don’t - but most of the people watching take on board what they are saying. So is very important to be exciting and entertain the people watching.”
