Carl Frampton’s clash with big rival Scott Quigg could happen sooner rather than later.
Frampton faces Jeremy Parodi in an IBF World title eliminator on October 19 and it seems a clash with Quigg could happen in 2014.
In a statement Barry McGuigan, manager of European Super Bantamweight Champion Carl Frampton said: “We can confirm that Cyclone Promotions has received an offer from Matchroom Boxing on Friday 11th of October for Carl Frampton to fight Scott Quigg in March 2014
“This is a fight that team Frampton and the public clearly want but any and all discussions will only take place post the Carl Frampton versus Jeremy Parodi world title eliminator fight on October 19th.”
Asked about Quigg yesterday Frampton said: “I am not talking about the guy from Bury. I am totally focused on Parodi,” he added.
But the Tigers Bay fighter last week said: “I believe I could stop him in three rounds. It is a fight I believe I could win and it is a fight I want,” he added.
