Paul Hyland jnr got his professional boxing career off to a flying start at the Devenish Complex in Belfast on Saturday night.

Hyland looked the part as he saw-off the tough Zoltan Horvath on points after four rounds.

The Belfast fighter showed glimpses of what he has to offer against Horvath, who struggled with the high tempo as Hyland put his foot on the gas.

Hyland was a top amateur and he admits Saturday night was a real eye opener.

“He made it very scrappy for me and I was just trying to box.

“It was frustrating and I was trying to stand off and box, but he kept grabbing me.

“But it is something I am going to have to get used to as it is a bit different from the amateur game.

“It was a real eye opener for me – but it was good to get the four rounds and now I know what it is all about,” he added.

And Hyland says he will out again at the Holiday Inn on June 6.

“I hope to stay busy and keeping winning.”
