Professional boxing action returns to Dundalk

Daniel McShane

Daniel McShane

KO Entertainment in association with Mark Dunlop have announced a promotional partnership that will see Christina McMahon and Declan Trainor share top-spot on the first of three planned professional boxing shows on March 9 in Dundalk.

Following Declan Trainor’s return from Australia where he served up an impressive professional debut stoppage of the much touted prospect Jamie Bogovic, the Warrenpoint Banger will now get the chance to impress on home soil.

Having joined up with Tony Dunlop at the Belfast Kronk Gym, the former Irish under 19 champion is certain to inject some excitement into Ireland’s already bubbling cruiserweight division.

Sharing centre stage at the Fairways Hotel will be another North East favorite Christina McMahon who will make her first professional appearance outside Dublin in a homecoming that is sure to delight her massive Carrickmacross following.

Fresh from her impressive Celtic Warrior Title win over French Champion Stephanie Ducastel, Ireland’s solitary native female professional will look to maintain current momentum which has secured her a 9th place world ranking.

The Dundalk fight-night will also witness a number of young exciting prospects make their mark on what guarantees to be an explosive nights action.

Just off an impressive win over former Irish Champion Mickey Coveney, and easily Ireland’s most active pugilist with four fights since his debut last September, the exciting 19 year old James Tennyson will look to take his record to an impressive 5-0.

The third of the Mark Dunlop managed Kronk charges, will be another of Belfast’s current stock of rising stars in Daniel “Insane” McShane, whose ring-entrance alone will be worth the night’s entrance fee.

Tickets will go on sale next Monday the 14th of January and will be priced at £30/ €35 unreserved & £40/ €50 ringside and are available from fighters or Stephen Sharpe on 0879537526.
