Stephen Haughian faces John O’Donnell challenge at the Odyssey

READY: John O'Donnell and Stephen Haughian

READY: John O'Donnell and Stephen Haughian

Stephen Haughian is looking to put himself back on the boxing map on Saturday night.

After a year and half out of the ring Haughian faces John O’Donnell in an eight rounder.

And the Lurgan fighter knows victory would push him into British title contention.

“This is great opportunity for me. If I get past this it will open doors for me. I feel fresh after the unwanted break I had and I know a win will push me up the rankings,” said Haughian.

Meanwhile Joe Hillerby faces Phill Fury and Hillerby is out to make an impression.

“I want to win and look good doing it. He has a good record, but I am back on track after winning in my last outing in Dublin - so I want to keep winning and moving upwards,” said Hillerby.

Also on the bill Daniel McShane faces Janis Puksins in his second professional fight.

McShane said: “I am ready to go and can’t wait to get started. Training and sparring has gone well and I will win at the Odyssey.”

And Marc McCullough faces a tricky one against Michael Kelly - but it is a test he believes he will pass.

“It will be tough fight, but it is the kind of fight I need. The aim is to stay busy and keep on winning.

“Kelly is a good fighter, but I believe I am ready for this challenge,” added McCullough.

Also on the bill Chris Eubank Jr fights Bradley Pryce, Matthew Wilton takes on Jozsef Garai, John Hutchinson tackles Gerald Healy, Paul Quinn faces Tibor Meszaros and Conall Carmichael is in against Darren Corbett
