Ricky Hatton is urging fans to get to the Odyssey Arena early on Friday night and see his young fighter Ryan Burnett in action.
Belfast boy Burnett fights on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s Final Eliminator for the WBC title.
Burnett will be one of the first fights of the night and Hatton says people should get there early to see the starlet strut his stuff.
“He is on early because he is at the novice stage, but I hope people can get there early and come and see him because they will miss something special if they miss Ryan’s fight.
“I have been around boxing a long time and I would not put my head in the chopping block if I did not believe in him.
“He will get to where Carl is and I believe he can go the whole way. He is ticking every box as he goes through the fights.
“As Barry McGuigan and myself have done, you have got to tick all the boxes – good chin, stamina, fitness and your desire to win. He is flying so far and if he continues he will go a long, long way,” added Hatton.
And Hatton is sure Burnett will make an impression at the Odyssey.
“We are looking for him to improve in every performance and he is really coming on the gym. It is also great that he can come through on the coat tails of Frampton and Ryan dreams of being where Carl is and I believe he will come through and do that.
“Carl is at the top of the tree, with the World title just around the corner, and it is nice to see a few of the Belfast boxers on the show.”
