Tyson Fury ready to see off Kevin Johnson at the Odyssey

BIG HITTER: Tyson Fury

BIG HITTER: Tyson Fury

TYSON Fury has reinvented himself physically over the past few months and Kevin Johnson is going to feel the force of the new and improved Fury at the Odyssey on Saturday night.

In the past Fury’s weight and fitness has fluctuated from fight to fight but now the unbeaten heavyweight has got his weight and conditioning under control, with his body fat now down to 8.2 percent.

Focus may have been a problem in the past - but Fury says he has really knuckled down in the last few months and he is now flying in training.

“The camp has been absolutely brilliant and I am doing things I have never done before.

“I have been training non-stop since January, so I have been doing this nearly a year.

I have put my heart and soul into it and I have trained right, my diet is right, my weights programme is right.

“I have done everything right and I have been sparring for a long time as well.

“I am in the best shape of my life.”

Fury is on the brink of a World title fight and he admits he may not have focussed on training as much as he should have in the past.

“To be honest I never did weights or things like that. But I have really been concentrating on my conditioning and my strength work.

“I am lifting 250 kilo from the floor and I am doing things that I thought I would never be able to do.

“My maximum bench press in the past was 110 kilos but I am now doing 140.

“Everything has improved loads and I am strong, I am fit and I am ready to go on Saturday.

“And if Johnson hasn’t trained the way he should have, he is going to be in some serious trouble,” stated Fury.
