Colin Turkington will take to one of his favourite circuits this weekend Knockhillin Scotland for the latest trio of rounds in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
The annual visit to the Scottish circuit is popular with fans from Northern Ireland and even now more so that Turkington has returned to the series.
The 2009 BTCC champion has been nothing short of a revelation on his return to the series this season.
The Portadown driver has taken his brand new eBay Motors sponsored BMW to three race wins, and could have been even higher in the championship but for contact with Andrew Jordan and Gordon Shedden in two races at Snetterton, which pushed him down the order from race winning positions.
The rounds to be staged at the Scottish circuit are at a pivotal point in the BTCC season and a huge partisan crowd is expected at the tight and twisty circuit.
“I feel that I am in with a good chance, the nature of the circuit should suit the BMWs and my teammates Nick Foster and Rob Collard are all hoping for good results,” said Turkington.
Matt Neal leads the way as it stands after an incredibly consistent start to the season while Neal’s Honda Yuasa Racing team-mate Shedden is the driver who has made the biggest move in recent rounds.
Trailing down the order after a difficult season opener at Brands Hatch, the Scotsman has edged his way back into contention with three race wins and a total of 12 podiums, more than any other driver.
