Colin Turkington has turned down the offer of a full season in the FIA World Touring Car Championship driving the new Ford.
Instead, the Portadown driver will remain with the eBay Motors Team and WSR Racing – driving one of their BMWs.
The 2014 season in the British a Touring Car Championship is set to be a vintage one with seven champions on the grid.
Last season – driving an Ebay Motors BMW on his return to the series – Turkington notched up five race wins and fought for the title right down to the wire which went to Andrew Jordan driving a Honda.
Turkington will be joined by the same teammates as last season, Rob Collard and Nick Foster.
“I have had a long association with WSR Racing and together we have been successful in both the British and World Touring Championships and with further development on the BMW cars we are well placed to mount a serious challenge,” commented Turkington.
The task now for Turkington and his teammates is a testing programme in preparation for the the first meeting at Brands Hatch on 29/30 March.
No one knows better than Turkington just how difficult the season ahead will be, Alain Menu returns to the series after much success in the World Series and the Swiss driver is ranked among the top Touring Car drivers in the world.
Honda will have a new car for the 2014 season, the Civic Tourer and they have retained their top driver line up of Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden, both former champions.
