Cricket: Graham Boyd pips Decker Curry in Long's SuperValu NW Performance of the Week

Graham Boyd has pipped Decker Curry to win the Long's SuperValu NW Performance of the week Award.

The Bonds Glen all-rounder took four wickets and top scored with 89 to reach 169 points as his team beat Killyclooney.

That put him just three ahead of Curry whose 66 not out and 5 for 12 in Ardmore’s win at Bready earned him 166 points.

Others worthy of a mention include Kris Dunn of Creevedonnell (143 points), Andy Millar of Eglinton (102), Brian Allen of Fox Lodge (94) and Paul Brolly of Ardmore (89).

Top performers in the Ladies League were Bready speedster Vanessa Buchanan and Strabane Saints’ Nicola Mullen whose four wickets each earned them 80 points - just ahead of Alana Dalzell with 78.

Players earn one point per run, 20 per wicket, and 10 for catches and run-outs.

The points are compiled using the CricketEurope NW Statszone - there will be monthly prizes as well as the usual annual awards.
