This is a pivotal week for Carrickfergus, the cups may be one thing but if they are to achieve promotion, they face three vital games.
Tonight they take on Woodvale, on Saturday it is a rematch of the Twenty20 Trophy final and on Sunday home to Downpatrick.
Downpatrick have a similar record and Paul Tate’s men after their heroics against CSNI in the Challenge Cup semi-final will be looking to get two wins as they face Cliftonville on Saturday.
Templepatrick are still very much in the mix with only three losses and Lurgan know that whilst they may currently be league leaders they cannot afford to lose a fifth game against them at Pollock Park.
Dundrum are already resigned to playing in Section Two next season but realistically with a bad run of form any one of the other nine sides could join them as 12 points covers the field.
Holywood will be looking to put some clear air between themselves and the rest with a win on Saturday and Sunday’s game at home to Templepatrick may well decide which end of the table they are looking at.
It has been a disappointing season for Matthew Jennings and Derriaghy, summed up last weekend as Downpatrick chased down 285 for victory.
In the weekend’s other game Woodvale badly need a win as they play host to Bangor.
