Holders away to Eglinton as Derriaghy land home draw

Irish Cup holders Waringstown have been drawn away to Eglinton in the second round of the Irish Cup this Sunday.

Eglinton are one of just two North West survivors in the competition. The other club, Fox Lodge, are at home to one of the tournament favourites, YMCA.

Of the other NCU teams still in the competition, Instonians have a tough home tie against Pembroke at Shaw’s Bridge. The Dubliners were beaten in last year’s semi-finals.

Carrickfergus, fresh from their route of Drummond yesterday, could not have been handed a more difficult tie. They face a trip to last year’s runners-up Merrion.

CIYMS face a trip to play two-time winners The Hills while Derriaghy, after their remarkable triumph over Donemana, host outsiders Co Galway.

IRISH SENIOR CUP ROUND TWO DRAW: Fox Lodge v YMCA, Merrion v Carrickfergus, Cork County v Phoenix, Eglinton v Waringstown, Instonians v Pembroke, Derriaghy v Co. Galway, North County v Malahide, The Hills v CIYMS.

Ties will be played Sunday May 29, with a reserve date of Sunday June 19.
