Eamonn O’Kane is looking forward to taking on Alvaro Gaona for the vacant WBC International Silver Middleweight title at the Odyssey on Friday night.

O’Kane knows that seeing off Alvaro will give him a high ranking with the WBC to go along with his high ranking with the IBF.

Good things have been said about Alvaro but O’Kane says he just wants to get in there and get started.

“He will not have to come and look for me. My record proves I will fight anyone and I do-not want to be one of these fighters that goes 20 to 30 fights without fighting anybody of note.

“I have not seen much of him but I have prepared properly for this one and I am ready for Friday night,” he added.

And Jamie Conlan is also looking to deliver as he faces Benjamin Smoes for the WBO European Super-flyweight title.

This is ‘The Mexican’s’ - as Conlan is known - first title fight and he is feeling super-charged before the clash.

“I am greedy. If I win the title on Friday night, I will want another title in my next fight.

“I want British and Commonwealth title fights next and I want to progress with every fight. I don’t want to stand still. I keep picturing the belt in the house and I am really excited to get going. It will be all about controlling my emotions on the night and not being too aggressive at the start.”
