FLAHAVAN’S Porridge is helping local school children to grasp the spirit of the 2012 Olympics through its grassroots sponsorship of the 2012/13 Athletics NI Primary School Cross Country League and Athletics NI Junior Cross Country Squad.

With phenomenal success for athletes at London 2012, John Noonan, Sales and Marketing Director at Flahavan’s commented: “We are delighted to revisit our partnership with Athletics NI. This is the third year of our sponsorship and we are aware that sport is an incredibly important aspect of society at a community, family and individual level. Participation in the league will give children the chance to take part in a competitive environment for the first time, meet new friends and most importantly have fun while enjoying a new sport. We hope that by introducing the pupils to the benefits of an active lifestyle and a healthy and nutritious breakfast that they will make this part of their daily routine.” The 2012/13 league kicks off on 15th October and will see over 100 Primary Schools taking part across six counties, Down, Armagh, Antrim, Tyrone, Londonderry (North West & Causeway coast) and for the first time this year Fermanagh.
