FOOTBALL: Boyce's Werder Bremen move is completed
LIAM Boyce will be unveiled in front of the German press later today after completing his move to Werder Bremen.
The IFA confirmed that the Cliftonville striker had finalised a deal with the Bundesliga giants.
The 19-year-old underwent a medical on Monday before putting pen-to-paper on the high-profile deal.
The move came one week after Boyce missed out on a move to Bundesliga 2 club SpVgg Greuther Furth.
The Northern Ireland Under 21 international is expected to be part of Bremen's feeder squad which competes in Bundesliga 3, but will train with the first team panel which is preparing for Champions League football this season
Cliftonville boss Eddie Patterson said: "I am delighted for Liam. This is a massive move for him but is totally warranted.
"He is a great talent and will come on leaps and bounds in Germany."
Reds Chairman Gerard Lawlor added: "Disappointed as we are to lose a player of Liam's calibre, we are delighted that he has been able to realise his dream of full-time football.
"We are pleased, too, that the terms of the transfer are good for Cliftonville FC and naturally wish Liam the very best of luck in his future career.
"He has only been a part of the first-team picture for around a season-and-a-half but made a highly significant contribution in that short time and leaves us with some great memories and, of course, our best wishes."
