Cliftonville retained the Wasp Solutions Northern Ireland Football League Cup on a penalty shootout at Solitude on Saturday night.
In front of a frantic 4,300 spectators, the teams slogged out a gruelling 120 minutes before facing the prospect of a penalty decider.
Joe Gormley Diamuid O’Carroll and Ciaran Caldwell hit the net for the Reds, while George McMullan’s effort crashed off the woodwork.
Gary McCutcheon and Nathan Hanley replyed for the Crues, but Colin Coates, Jordan Owens and Craig McClean missed from the spot which proved so costly.
