Crusaders have been installed as new favourites for the Irish Cup after Saturday’s quarter-final draw paired Stephen Baxter’s side with Ballyclare Comrades.
The Crues are now a shade of odds-on at 10/11 (Paddy Power) to lift the trophy this season.
It comes after they disposed of Ballymoney United on Saturday, while other fancied sides Linfield and Coleraine were knocked out.
Reigning Irish Cup champions Glentoran – who could only manage a 1-1 draw with Armagh City – are second favourites at 11/4, followed by Ballymena United (13/2).
If the Glens can see off Armagh in next week’s replay, they will have earned a home clash against the winners of Ballinamallard United vs Glenavon – which was postponed on Saturday.
Ballymena’s reward for dumping the Blues out of the cup is a quarter-final tie with Dungannon Swifts at the Showgrounds.
There will be plenty of incentive for outsiders Queen’s University who have been drawn to face the winners of Warrenpoint Town and Bangor at the Dub.
Irish Cup quarter-final draw: Ballymena United v Dungannon Swifts, Crusaders v Ballyclare Comrades, Glentoran or Armagh City v Ballinamallard United or Glenavon, Queen’s University v Warrenpoint Town or Bangor.
Ties to be played on Saturday, March 1.
