Curtis Allen struck late to earn Glentoran a welcome Danske Bank Premiership victory.

Allen bagged a brace against Portadown, including a late winner to earn Alan Kernaghan’s side three points at The Oval,

The Ports went into the game after only one win in 11 Premiership contests while Glentoran had lost seven of their previous 10.

Allen’s double came after took the lead in the opening minute – Marcio Soares on target to break the deadlock.

Sean Mackle fired a shot into the side-netting before being denied by a fine Elliot Morris save.

Allen equalised a minute before the break when he ran on to a ball over the top from Fra McCaffrey before finishing.

Ports goalkeeper David Miskelly kept his side on terms with fine saves to deny Allen, Jay Magee and McCaffrey but the visitors then had Mackle sent off in the 84th minute after picking up his second yellow card.

From the resultant free-kick Allen curled a superb effort home to clinch the win.
