IRISH LEAGUE: Darren Murray voices his frustration as Cliftonville are held at Stangmore Park

The Reds were three minutes from a hard-fought win against Dungannon.

But they failed to see it out, with Andrew Mitchell scoring in the 87th minute to salvage a point for the home side.

The draw means Cliftonville have slipped five points behind second-placed Linfield.

And Murray declared: “It’s a disappointing draw for us.

“Coming down here, you’re expected to get the three points, but fair play to Dungannon.

“They held in there and came back and got the equaliser.”

Murray scored after 10 minutes, finding the net with a left-foot finish after taking a pass from Chris Curran.

But Mitchell replied soon afterwards when he met a free-kick and headed home.

Murray scored again for the visitors early in the second half.

He collected a through-ball from Marc Smyth before netting from close range.

But Cliftonville suffered a blow 15 minutes from the end when David McDaid was sent off for a robust challenge.

It seemed they might hold out, but Mitchell levelled in the 87th minute after a goalmouth scramble.

“Dungannon pushed on and could have made it 3-2 and won the game at the end,” he added.

“Marc Smyth has made a great block on the line and Peter Burke made a couple of great saves through the game.”
